Illinois Men's Tennis - Wisconsin

The Illini men's tennis team defeated Wisconsin on April 20 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Urbana.

Sophomore 2013-14
Produced a 12-10 overall record including a 9-5 mark in the dual spring season ... Went 5-1 in Big Ten play and won seven straight conference showdowns including the Big Ten Tournament ... Once a permanent fixture in the lineup starting April 11, Jesse finished the year 5-2 down the stretch ... Went 22-15 overall in doubles ... Recorded a 13-11 dual doubles record with a 7-3 mark in Big Ten play ... Won his match in straight sets against Pepperdine's Pedro Leme on College MatchDay on ESPN3 ... Won both his singles and doubles matches during the quarters and semis of the Big Ten Tournament ... Won five straight doubles matches in October, including an upset over then No. 3 Junior Ore/Jackson Withrow of Texas A&M ... Academic All-Big Ten ... ITA Scholar Athlete.

Jesse finished 10-9 overall in singles matches with a 5-3 dual match record... Earning a spot into the lineup at the end of the season, Jesse accomplished a 4-1 mark in Big Ten play, including a three-set battle against Ohio State's Hunter Callahan... Was the lone point in the NCAA Tournament loss to No. 16 Vanderbilt, winning 11 straight games to take a straight set victory... Achieved a 19-12 record in doubles matches... Along with partner Jared Hiltzik, the duo went undefeated in Big Ten play at 7-0 and 14-5 in the spring... Best win came against No. 32 McCarthy/Van Engelen of Ohio State...
