Illinois Men's Tennis - Wisconsin

The Illini men's tennis team defeated Wisconsin on April 20 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Urbana.

Junior 2013-14
Finished with the third most wins on the team with a 29-15 overall mark ... Produced a 20-win dual season with a 20-7 mark ... Had the second most wins in Big Ten play with a 9-2 record ... Finished the year strong, going 8-3 in singles since the start of April ... Primarily played No. 4 singles where he recorded a 9-3 record ... Thus, a major factor in the stat that Illinois went 14-0 on the year when an Illini won at No. 4 singles ... Went 15-14 in doubles with an 11-10 dual record ... Produced four-match win streaks on four different occasions ... Delivered a clutch point in singles in 'The Comeback' over Memphis in the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament ... Provided key singles victories in the upsets over No. 16 Notre Dame and No. 8 Texas A&M ... One of two Illini to score a victory in singles against a Sooner in the narrow loss to No. 7 Oklahoma at National Indoors.

Playing History:
Transferred from Vanderbilt where he played his first two seasons... Was named ITA Ohio Valley Region Rookie of the Year after posting a 20-13 overall record in the 2010-11 season... Also a one-time SEC Freshman of the Week.

Personal: Lettered all four years in high school in tennis... Won Illinois State Championships in 2009 which he also cites as his biggest thrill in sports thus far... Son of Walter and Ava Bazarnik... Enjoys golfing in his spare time... His favorite atlete was Andre Agassi... States his brother has his biggest influence on his career by teaching him to be humble about the sport.
