Senior All-American Leo Oka took second on pommel horse Saturday night at Big Ten Finals

The University of Illinois men's gymnastics team closed out the 2001 Big Ten Championship event finals with five placewinners Saturday night in State College, Pa.
Senior All-American Leo Oka took second on pommel horse with a 9.125, while senior Jon Ham placed third on high bar with a season-high 9.112. Oka also scored a 8.725 on still rings and 8.70 on high bar for eighth place in both events. Senior Linh Hoang competed on still rings finishing seventh with a 8.90 and parallel bars which he also took seventh with an 8.65. Sophomore Forest Flodin placed sixth on pommel horse with a 8.25, while senior Greg Cook took ninth on high bar with an 8.625.
Ohio State's Jamie Natalie won the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year honor, while the Buckeye's head coach Miles Avery won the Coach of the Year award. Minnesota's Eric Steele won Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
