CHAMPAIGN, Ill.  - The Fighting Illini men's and women's gymnastics teams will host its annual Gym Jam promotion this Saturday, presented by WCIA. The 13th ranked women's squad will take on Lindenwood while the sixth ranked men's team will battle UIC. Gym Jam begins at 4 p.m. CT, with doors opening one hour prior, and as always, admission is free.

Be sure to arrive early to take advantage of the great Gym Jam promotions going on Saturday. There will be free Illini gymnastics sunglasses for the first 500 fans and free food available for the first 1,000 fans in attendance.

The 2014 edition of the women's squad has been a record setting group, achieving the second highest team total, the highest vault total, the fourth best bars and the third best beam score in school history. The Orange and Blue have been an exciting group to watch at Huff this season, for they are averaging a 196.250 through the first four home meets.

The men's team will host their second home meet this weekend after going 7-3-1 this season, with a runner up finish at the Windy City Invitational and wins against UIC, Ohio State, and Iowa. As a team, Illinois is ranked sixth on floor and pommel horse, fifth on still rings, seventh on vault and parallel bars, and eighth on high bar.

In addition, both teams will be welcoming back former gymnasts for Alumni Weekend, as all returnees will be acknowledged prior to the meet. We will be honoring the 1990 Big Ten Champion women's team and the following from the men's side: 1988 Big Ten Championship team, the 1989 NCAA and Big Ten Championship team and the 10th anniversary of the 2004 Big Ten Championship team.

Gym Jam also marks the last home meet for both squads. Thus, Senior Day activities will occur after the meet, in which we will honor the careers of Amber See, Elizabeth McNabb, Sarah Fiedler, Andrew Margolis, Chad Mason, Cameron Rogers, Cole Smith, and Alex Varga.
