    Los Angeles, California - The University of Illinois men's gymnastics team began their weekend in California on a good note, scoring a season-high 212.900 for first place out of five teams at the Peter Vidman Invitational Thursday night in Los Angeles. With the win, the Illini improve to 13-3 overall.

    Illinois dominated the meet, winning all six events. Senior All-American Leo Oka took top honors on pommel horse by scoring a season-best 9.35 and vault with a 9.25. Oka also won the all-around with a 52.60. California native Sean-Paul Crawford scored a 9.35 on floor for first while fellow Californian Jonathan Ham placed first on high bar with a 8.95. Senior Linh Hoang led the Illini rings team with his score of 9.55. Sophomore Bob Spelic rounded the meet by taking first on parallel bars with a 8.55.

    Illinois will finish their weekend on the West Coast in a dual meet against Stanford in Palo Alto Saturday night. The meet is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. CT.
