PARK RIDGE, Ill. - Fighting Illini newcomer Chandler Eggleston earns his third straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor for his outstanding performance against Ohio State, the conference office announced Monday.

Eggleston took home two titles and finished fifth oh high bar to help the Orange and Blue defeat Ohio State on Sunday afternoon.

Eggleston captured the crown in floor exercise (15.300), marking his 5th title overall this season and third on that apparatus. The Illini freshman also took home his second vault title with a score of 15.100.

The award marks Eggleston's third Freshman of the Week accolade, and the first Illini men's gymnast to be honored in three consecutive weeks.

The Orange and Blue will return to action this coming Saturday, Feb. 1 when they travel to Minnesota to face the Golden Gophers at 7 p.m. CT.
