CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- With its score of 225.325 against the UIC Flames, the University of Illinois men's gymnastics team vaults to second in the nation in the latest NCAA/Gym Info Poll. The Illini rank second behind the Buckeyes of Ohio State.

The Big Ten Conference holds the top five spots in this week's poll with defending national champion Michigan ranking third, Penn State fourth and Iowa fifth.

In addition to the overall ranking, the Illini have many individuals ranked in the top 25. Junior all-arounder Leo Oka ranks in the top 20 in every event to push him to No. 1 in the all-around. Oka also holds a third-place ranking on floor, sixth on rings, ninth on high bar, 10th on parallel bars, 13th on vault and 16th on pommel horse. Junior Linh Hoang has the top score on parallel bars, while teammate Greg Cook has the second-best mark in the same event. Senior, seven-time All-American Travis Romagnoli earned a second-place ranking on high bar with his 9.90 performance and ranks 10th in the all-around. As a team, the Illini rank first on parallel bars and second on vault.

The second-ranked Illini will be back in action on Saturday with a dual conference meet in Minneapolis against No. 7 Minnesota. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
