PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Fighting Illini newcomer Chandler Eggleston earns his second straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor for his solid performance at the Windy City Invitational, the conference office announced Monday.

Eggleston took home one title and finished third on vault to help the Orange and Blue tie Ohio State for second this past Saturday. Eggleston captured the crown in floor exercise (15.150), marking his 3rd title overall this season and second on that apparatus. The Illini freshman also took third on vault (15.200).

The award marks Eggleston's second Freshman of the Week accolade, and the first Illini men’s gymnast to be honored in consecutive weeks since C.J. Maestas in 2012.

The Orange and Blue will return to action this coming Sunday, Jan. 26, hosting Ohio State at Huff Hall. The Illini will square off with the Buckeyes at 2 p.m on the Big Ten Network.
