Huntington, W.V. - Due to heavy rains last night and today, the first day of the 39th Annual Marshall Invitational, which includes Illinois and 16 other schools, has been cancelled. Players were scheduled to play 54 holes -- 36 holes today and 18 more Saturday. The tournament will now be shortened to 36 holes, all of which will be attempted on Saturday, however the course has taken on a lot of water over the past 24 hours and more rain is expected this evening. Decision about the remainder of the tournament will be made Saturday. The Saturday forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of 57 degrees.
