No. 6 Illinois is in 10th place after the first round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational. The Illini scored 306 (+18) on the 7,491-yard par 72 course against a field that includes five of the top six and six of the top eight teams in the country.

No. 5 Stanford leads the tournament at +1 (289) followed by No. 20 TCU (+2), No. 1 Oklahoma State (+3), No. 8 Florida (+4), and No. 25 Texas Tech (+8). The Illini are just seven strokes behind sixth-place No. 22 Alabama (+11).

Two Illinois players are among the top 20 individually - sophomore Luke Guthrie, who is tied for 14th after a first-round 73 and junior Scott Langley, who is tied for 16th after a first-round 74. Senior Matt Hoffman is tied for 44th after shooting a 78 while senior Zach Barlow and junior Chris DeForst shot 81 and 82, respectively.

Florida's Tim McKenney, Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein and Stanford's Steve Ziegler share the first-round lead after each firing 68s. A total of 11 players shot under par in the opening round.

The 54-hole tournament continues Monday and Tuesday with the second and third rounds, respectively.
