Moore Dismissed from Team - 8/24/98
Junior wide receiver Connie Moore was dismissed from the Illinois football squad last night, and freshman wide receiver Bobie Singleton has been suspended from the team. Here are quotes from Head Coach Ron Turner following Monday morning's practice:
"Connie Moore is no longer a member of this football team. He was dismissed for conduct detrimental to the team. He was dismissed last night, he is out of camp and is no longer part of the team. Bobie Singleton has been suspended from the team and the length of the suspension will be determined at a later date."
Coach Turner will be available to members of the media in Rantoul following this afternoon's practice. Coach Turner will also be available tomorrow following the morning practice session. The Illini are scheduled to break camp Tuesday afternoon and return to Champaign.
