PASADENA, Calif. -- University of Illinois athletic department officials announced today that former Illini All-American and 1994 Butkus Award winner Dana Howard will serve as the Grand Marshall for the parade at the New Year's Eve Illini Bash at Universal Studios Hollywood. On Dec. 30, Illini alum and Chicago television sports anchor Ryan Baker will emcee the Pep Rally at 10:30 a.m. at Universal Studios CityWalk. Alongside Baker will be All-American linebacker and 1995 Butkus Award winner Kevin Hardy, who will accompany and lead out the 2007 Fighting Illini football team and Head Coach Ron Zook.
Zook and the Fighting Illini football team will appear at the pep rally, as will the Marching Illini and Illini Cheer Team. The first 3,500 people will be allowed entry into the pep rally area.
