The Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced plans for a Dec. 31 New Year's Illini Bash event for Fighting Illini fans who will be in the Pasadena area for the Rose Bowl.
Universal Studios Hollywood will be home to thousands of Fighting Illini fans from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. as part of Illini Bash on New Year's Eve. The Marching Illini, cheer team, and a number of Illini stars will be on hand for a special Illini Parade that will also include Universal Studios Hollywood characters such as Shrek and Spider-Man. The Globe Theatre is being held and decorated in orange and blue for Illini fans only from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. - including a live band performing from 7 p.m. to the New Year's Eve toast at 10 p.m. (midnight for Fighting Illini fans!). A cash bar will also be in place at the Globe. Overflow plans are in place in case the late night crowd outgrows the Globe.
Cost for the Illini Bash is $72.50, which includes all rides and attractions in the park, and it's just $8.50 more than the usual Universal Studios Hollywood admission price.
