    Fighting Illini student-athletes have demonstrated, time and again over the years, that they're committed not only to excellence on the field or court and in the classroom, but they also want to show their concern for others in the community.

    Members of the Illinois football team, along with Illini basketball players, produced video messages of support and encouragement to U.S. military personnel stationed abroad.

    And the news media has taken notice.
