surrounded by the individual coaches? offices and various conference rooms.
Coach Ron Turner and his full staff meet daily in the main staff conference room. Next door are an offensive and a defensive film room where coaches break down videotape and develop their game plans.
Around the corner, Mark Herman and his staff use state-of-the art computerized video equipment to give the coaches every view they could ever need of every play in practices and in games.
On the lower level of the complex is the Squad Room, where the Fighting Illini football team has its frequent meetings. Plaques from every Illinois bowl game surround the room. The offense sits on one side of the room and the defense on the other side, so the room can be divided in half when necessary. The room also serves as the site for post-game press conferences.
Adjacent to the squad room are position meeting rooms for the various units--defensive backs, offensive linemen, receivers, etc., where coaches teach with videotape.
Goal boards and reminders are very prominently displayed in the hallway outside.
The locker room is located directly between the training room and the equipment room for easy access.
