CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Fighting Illini fans serving in the U.S. armed forces have the opportunity to appear on the video board at the Nov. 10 Illinois game against Minnesota, University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics officials announced Friday. In honor of Veterans Day, which is traditionally observed on Nov. 11, messages from military men and women will be shown on the Memorial Stadium video board during breaks in the Nov. 10 contest.
Service members can record themselves giving a "shout-out" to their friends, family and fellow Illini fans, upload it to YouTube and complete the form here.
In addition, feel free to send us a picture of your "Illinois" loved one or friend who is currently serving our country, and we will recognize some of them during the game too. Simply send the picture with the name of the person and hometown via email to DIAMarketing@illinois.edu.
Both video and picture submissions are due this Monday, Nov. 5 at 5 pm CST.
