2014 Fighting Illini Radio Coverage

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The 45-station Illini Sports Network has been set to bring exciting Fighting Illini football action to fans across the state of Illinois and the entire Midwest with Brian Barnhart, Kurt Kittner and Steve Kelly calling the action.

An expansion of the game-day broadcast to a full hour of pre-game and post-game shows highlights changes for the 2014 season of Fighting Illini football on the radio network.

"We are pleased to maintain a majority of our radio affiliates for the upcoming season," said Chris Andrews, general manager of Fighting Illini Sports Properties. "Their dedication and loyalty to Fighting Illini athletics and it's fan base is shown by their commitment to carry and expand coverage for our teams. Illini fans throughout the state can continue to enjoy our game days thanks to these radio affiliates."

The flagship station on the network continues to be long-time partner WDWS-AM 1400 in Champaign, while the strong Chicago signal of WSCR-AM 670 (The Score) will broadcast Fighting Illini games throughout the Midwest.

A few changes to the lineup include the addition of WPZN-FM 96.5 (ESPN Peoria) and in Taylorville with the ISN moving to WTIM-AM 870, WMKR 94.3 HD-3 and FM translator 96.3.

"The addition of Illinois football and basketball is another exciting step in our growth at ESPN Peoria," said Scott Hecathorn, operations manager at ESPN Peoria. "We've worked hard to supplement our exciting talk lineup with the best play-by-play options for the Heart of Illinois and there couldn't be a better partner for us than the Illini!"

There are three conflicts with White Sox games on WSCR-AM 670 in Chicago. On Aug. 30 and Sept. 27, the Fighting Illini can be heard on WIND-AM 560, on Sept. 13, the Fighting Illini will be heard on WYLL-AM 1160.

The state-wide Illini Sports Network is managed by Fighting Illini Sports Properties and encompasses all sponsorship and operational elements. ISN programming includes football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball, along with the "Illini Today" daily report. The "Tim Beckman Show" can be heard statewide on the ISN every Tuesday beginning Aug. 26 at 7 pm CT.
