Champaign, Ill. - The 2011-12 season of the Fighting Illini Insider debuts next week on local outlets throughout Illinois and nationally on the Big Ten Network. Illini Productions will produce 37 shows covering primarily football in the fall, men's and women's basketball starting in early December, and spring sports through the end of May. The first two shows give fans an inside look at life at Camp Rantoul. The week two episode also includes previews of the nationally-ranked Illini volleyball and soccer teams.
The Big Ten Network plans to air the Fighting Illini Insider on Wednesdays at 10 a.m CT most weeks, but will debut the program on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 3:30 p.m. and present week two's show on Wednesday Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m. Check local listings for dates and times each week.
Locally the show will air on Central Illinois' CW (WBUI) Tuesdays at 5 p.m.; on MeTV (55.2 and 27.2 Digital) Tuesdays at 8 p.m.; on Fox 55/27 (WRSP/WCCU) at 11 p.m. Tuesdays; and This TV Illinois (23.2) on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30 am.
Illinois radio voice Brian Barnhart will host the majority of the fall shows, which will include game highlights, in-studio interviews with Illini head coaches, special features and Olympic sports reviews in a 30-minute magazine style format.
