Future Schedules

CHAMPAIGN, IL - University of Illinois Director of Athletics Mike Thomas announced Friday the addition of two future football games at Memorial Stadium. The Fighting Illini will host Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 26, 2015, and Western Kentucky on Sept. 16, 2017.

Illinois and Middle Tennessee State have met twice previously, both Illinois victories. In 1998, the Illini defeated the Blue Raiders, 48-20, and in 2000, Illinois cruised to a 35-6 win. MTSU is joining Conference USA starting with the 2013 season. The scheduling of MTSU, along with previously announced games against Kent State (Sept. 12) and Western Illinois (Sept. 19), means only one non-conference game has yet to be scheduled for 2015.

In addition to the 2017 matchup with Western Kentucky, Illinois also will host the Hilltoppers at Memorial Stadium on Sept. 6, 2014, in what will be the first meeting between the two teams. Western Kentucky was 7-6 in 2012 and played in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, its first Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) bowl game in school history. WKU will move to Conference USA prior to the 2014 season. The Illinois-WKU game is the first of three non-conference games to be announced for the 2017 season.
