Times and TV Set for First Two Illini Football Games

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday start times and television information for several football games during the opening weeks of the 2014 season. Included were Illinois' home-opener against Youngstown State on Aug. 30, which is set for 11 a.m. CT on Big Ten Network, and the Fighting Illini's Sept. 6 game against Western Kentucky, which also will be at 11 a.m. on BTN.

Illinois now has six 2014 game times set, as the Sept. 27 game at Nebraska (8 p.m. CT) and Nov. 1 game at Ohio State (7 p.m. CT) were both previously announced as primetime games, the Sept. 13 game at Washington is set for a 3 p.m. CT start and the Homecoming game against Minnesota on Oct. 25 will kick at 11 a.m. CT.

TV and start times for remaining football games will be determined on the customary 6- or 12-day advance notice.

The Fighting Illini will again play seven home games in 2014, including three in the month of September and a Big Ten slate of Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa and Penn State at Memorial Stadium. This year marks the first season of East-West divisional play in the Big Ten Conference. Illinois is in the Big Ten West division along with Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin. Ohio State is one of two crossover games for the Illini in 2014, along with Penn State. Season tickets are on sale now for as low as $99. Single-game tickets will go on sale July 24.
