    Akim Millington is expected to provide a big boost for the Illini offensive line this fall.


    University of Illinois football players Chris Norwell and Akim Millington have earned preseason All-Big Ten honors by collegefootballnews.com as released by the website this week.

    Norwell, who begins his third season as a starting defensive tackle for the Illini, and Millington, a transfer who is slated to be Illinois' starting left tackle, each were tabbed as second-team All-Big Ten performers. Also getting recognition for the Illini was senior running back Pierre Thomas, who was ranked among the Top-30 players in the conference.

    Collegefootballnews.com also ranked the nation's most promising programs, under the category of "Sleeping Giants." Head coach Ron Zook's Illini earned the No. 1 spot under "Creating a Monster."
