Barr Joins Fighting Illini Class of 2014

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois head football coach Tim Beckman announced the addition of sophomore receiver Raphael Barr to the Fighting Illini's 2014 signing class on Monday. Barr, who played at Citrus College in California in 2013, will be eligible for the 2014 season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-2, 190-pound Barr totaled 27 catches for 408 yards (15.1 yards per catch) and six touchdowns in the Owls' 10-game season a year ago, earning honorable mention All-Central Conference recognition. He also returned six kickoffs for 186 yards (31.0 ypr) in 2013.
As a senior at Etiwanda High School in Etiwanda, California, Barr had 60 catches for 950 yards and also racked up 410 kick return yards during a 10-game season. He was a first-team All-Baseline League selection in 2012 and was an All-Inland Valley selection.
A native of Fontana, California, and one of seven children in his family, Barr plans to major in communication at Illinois.
