CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois football game at Arizona State on Sept. 8 has been set for 7:30 pm MST (9:30 CDT) on ESPN, the Pac-12 conference and it's television partners announced today. When the teams take the field in Tempe it will be a rematch of last year's thrilling 17-14 Illinois victory under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

Illinois now has seven of its 12 game times announced for the 2012 season, with no more expected to be set prior to the season. The remaining games will likely be announced during the season as 6- or 12-day selections by the television networks.

The 2012 Fighting Illini will be led by new head coach Tim Beckman, who came to Illinois after three successful seasons at Toledo. Illinois is coming off bowl victories in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history after victories in the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and 2010 Texas Bowl against UCLA and Baylor, respectively. The Fighting Illini have seven home games in 2012, starting with the season-opener at Memorial Stadium against Western Michigan on Sept. 1. Season tickets are on sale now.
