CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois athletic department in conjunction with the Big Ten ABC/ESPN television package announces the following games times for the 2000 football season, inclucing a national espn2 broadcast to begin the conference season.

The non-televised season and home opener on Sept. 2 against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders has been set for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff, followed by an 8 p.m. CT start time for the Illini road contest at San Diego State on Sept. 9 which will be aired by espn2.

ESPN has picked up the Illini's Sept. 16 contest against California scheduled for an 11:10 a.m. CT start. Illinois will kickoff the Big Ten season with an espn2 national broadcast against Michigan at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 at Memorial Stadium.

The Illinois/Penn State contest on Oct. 21 has been set for 11:10 a.m. CT and will televised on a network to be determined two weeks prior the game. All additional game times will be finalized no later that two weeks prior to the game date.
