    Illini Succeed in Classroom in Spring Semester

    58 Percent of Team Earns 2.67 GPA or Better

    Student-Athlete Graduation Photos

    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini football team celebrated 24 graduates over the last academic year and 41 student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 GPA in the Spring 2012 semester. Forty-nine out of 84 (58 percent) returning student-athletes earned a 2.67 GPA or better in the spring semester, and 32 earned a 3.0 GPA or better.

    In addition, three Fighting Illini student-athletes - fullback Zach Becker, offensive lineman Tyler Sands and running back Leslie Poole - earned perfect 4.0 GPAs in the Spring 2012 semester. Overall, 41 football student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better.
