Illinois Athletics Announces 2008 Meet and Greet Tour Stops
April 25, 2008
Last summer the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics welcomed back the concept of taking coaches on the road to visit with fans of the "Illini Nation." This summer, the Meet and Greet Tour returns and has four scheduled stops including Chicagoland (Lisle) on May 12, Springfield on May 22, Bloomington on June 4 and Peoria on June 19.
Fighting Illini Head Football Coach Ron Zook will be the highlighted speaker at all four events. A final lineup of other speakers at each venue will be announced at a later date. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos, get autographs and ask direct questions of the coaches. Team posters, ticket information and schedule cards will be available at each stop.
"Last summer, I had a great time getting out to many of the communities and meeting our loyal Illini fans," Zook said. "Anytime we can get in front of our fans and talk about the direction of the programs here at Illinois, the better it is to promoting the University of Illinois as a whole. This is one of my favorite parts of the job, because it is truly enjoyable to interact with people who have such passion for Illinois."
All four events are free admission and include complimentary appetizers. All Meet and Greets will begin at 7 p.m. Due to space limitations, the events are limited to the first 500 fans. To reserve your place, register on-line HERE.
