The Big Ten Network announced several primetime games for the 2014 Big Ten football season on Tuesday, including Illinois' Big Ten opener at Nebraska on Sept. 27. The Illini and Huskers are slated for an 8 p.m. CT start in Lincoln, Neb., with Big Ten Network carrying the matchup.

Illinois will open conference play at Nebraska for the second straight season. In 2013, the Cornhuskers dealt the Fighting Illini a 39-19 defeat to start the B1G slate. The two teams have met 11 times overall, with Nebraska holding an 8-2-1 overall series lead and a 5-1 edge in Lincoln.

Two Fighting Illini game games are now set for 2014, both in primetime. Last week, it was announced that the Nov. 1 game at Ohio State will be a 7 p.m. CT start on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.

The Fighting Illini will again play seven home games in 2014, including three in the month of September and a Big Ten slate of Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa and Penn State at Memorial Stadium. This year marks the first season of East-West divisional play in the Big Ten Conference. Illinois is in the Big Ten West division along with Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin. Ohio State is one of two crossover games for the Illini in 2014, along with Penn State. Season tickets are on sale now for as low as $99.
