CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois Football coaching staff and players hosted hundreds of Illini fans on Saturday, April 20, for the annual Illini Football Family Fun Fest. The Illini signed autographs and participated in football drills with children on the playing surface at Memorial Stadium for 90 minutes on a chilly but sunny day in Champaign.

"It means a lot to come out here and see all the kids and families that support us through the years," senior quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase said. "It's time to actually get to talk to them, sign autographs and actually play a little ball with them. It's a fun time for us as player and a fun time for the fans."

"I just love seeing the kids faces, both our players and these young kids," head coach Tim Beckman said. "The kids are happy to be here, they're excited. I think it's really neat for them to be able to get out here and play on the field at Memorial stadium and to interact with out student-athletes."
