The Fighting Illini had a full contact scrimmage on a beautiful Saturday morning at Memorial Stadium. The first, second and third string all completed several scripted drives as well as third down, two-minute drill, coming out and red zone situations. Only starting quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase was held out of full contact, as the team scrimmaged for about 90 minutes. Following the scrimmage, the Fighting Illini players and coaches returned to the field to sign autographs and participate in football drills with young Illini fans at the annual Football Family Fun Fest.
