After a week off for spring break, the Fighting Illini returned to action with an early morning practice on a beautiful spring day at Memorial Stadium. The Illini were in shorts, jerseys (no shoulder pads) and helmets for the two-and-a-half hour session.

It marked the 10th practice of the spring for the Orange and Blue, who will return to the field on Wednesday morning before going to Springfield on Friday for a practice at Sacred Heart Griffin High School. The SHG practice on Friday will be free and open to the public starting at 6 p.m.

Next week, the Illini will practice on Tuesday morning (change from the original schedule), then on Thursday evening with the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Clinic in town, all leading up to the annual Orange and Blue Spring Game on Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m.
