CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) has announced a slogan contest to help design a t-shirt for the upcoming 2012 Illinois football season. Fighting Illini fans can submit a slogan for the 2012 Illinois football "Loyal-Tee" season t-shirt for a chance to win a pair of season tickets for the 2012 football season and a $125 shopping spree at Gameday Spirit.

Slogan ideas can be submitted online and must be received by April 4, 2012 at Noon. One entry will be chosen as the winner for the 2012 design by a panel of University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) officials and announced the week of April 9, prior to the annual Orange and Blue Spring Game on April 14.

DIA graphic designers will then create orange short-sleeve t-shirt designs using the winning slogan and fans will have a chance to vote on their favorite design. The chosen design will be worn by the Block I student section and available for purchase by fans at Gameday Spirit Fan Stores and online at FightingIllini.com in early May. Complete contest rules are available here.

The 2012 Fighting Illini will be led by new head coach Tim Beckman, who came to Illinois after three successful seasons at Toledo. Illinois is coming off bowl victories in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history after victories in the 2010 Texas Bowl and the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against Baylor and UCLA, respectively. The Fighting Illini have seven home games on 2012, starting with the season-opener at Memorial Stadium against Western Michigan in Sept. 1. Season tickets are on sale now.
