CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois football team in conjunction with the Champaign News-Gazette will host the third annual Football Family Fun Fest on Saturday, March 4 from 2-5 p.m. prior to the Northwestern/Illinois men's basketball game.
The Fun Fest, which will take place in the Bubble and the Great West Hall of Memorial Stadium, will feature many attractions including interactive games, ticket giveaways and a chance to meet the Fighting Illini players and coaches.
"This is one of my favorite events of the year," head coach Ron Turner said. "We have always heard from fans that they want to meet the players and we think that in this family-type environment, they will have that opportunity. It is a great time for the children, but the team enjoys the interaction as well."
Among the activities, the freshman football players will be featured in a dunk tank, children can test their skills in passing, receiving, and kicking, and the 2000 team will be on hand for photos and autographs.
Admission is free to the public and parking will be available in the Northwest and Northeast lots of Assembly Hall.
