Tickets are $5 and will be on sale on Feb. 18-19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Huff Hall and Feb. 22 on the Quad. Tickets also are available at the Irwin Academic Center in room 206, daily from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and can be purchased at the door the night of the event beginning at 7 p.m.
"We are very excited about this year's SAAC project," said Courtney Spivak, SAAC co-chair and member of the Illinois swimming and diving team. "Most of the performances will be dance numbers and lip-syncing acts. Nearly every varsity team will be represented and you can look forward to a lot of entertainment. We have seen this done at other universities and it has been a huge hit in the community."
Student-Athletes Leading Social Change (SALSC) is an organization made up of student-athletes from across the nation, including the University of Illinois, joining together to make a real difference on a local, national, and international level. SALSC is currently working on an effort in Kenya to build new schools and improve the ones that they have. For more information on SALSC, log on to www.salsc.org.
