The Fighting Illini football team enjoys meals together each evening while school is in session, both in and out of season, thanks to Linda White and the Varsity Room training table staff.

The training table started more than 60 years ago with service just during the football season, and gradually, with NCAA rule changes, has evolved to the point that it operates throughout the academic year.

The Varsity Room, which is located at the base of the southeast tower of Memorial Stadium, has provided nutrition and many memories for thousands of Fighting Illini football players and other athletes over the years.

Find out more about this important part of life as an Illinois football player in this VIDEO interview with food service director Linda White.
