Robby Long begins his third season as the defensive graduate assistant working with the defensive line. Long began his stint fresh out of college where he helped lead the Illinois team to a 2001 Big Ten title. He was a three-year letterwinner on the defensive line, playing in 36 games. His senior year he recorded 15 total tackles and four tackles for loss. Long received a bachelor’s degree in leisure studies and sports management in May of 2002.
Long’s responsibilities include aiding Coach Donnie Thompson and the defensive line as well as preparing the scout teams each week.
A Champaign, Ill., native, Long attended Centennial High School where he led the team to two Big 12 Championships. He is single and resides in Champaign.
