Football
Kristin Kane is in her sixth year as an academic counselor for football, and her seventh overall at Illinois. Kane monitors the progress of defensive team members and assists student-athletes in course scheduling, time management, study skills, degree attainment and career development. She also meets regularly with at-risk students to monitor their academic progress, talks with prospective student-athletes on recruiting visits and oversees the team study table program. In addition, Kane coordinates the tutor program for all student-athletes. Kane has been a part of Illinois' Department of Academic Services since 1999. From 1998-2000, she also worked for the Department of Kinesiology on campus. She holds bachelor of arts degrees in sociology and physical education from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where she played four seasons of college basketball. She earned a Master of Science degree in kinesiology from Illinois in 2001.
