    Big Ten Release | Illini-UIC Highlights

    Illinois junior guard Rayvonte Rice was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Monday for his performance in the Fighting Illini's win over UI at the United Center on Saturday. Rice poured in a season-high 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds to earn his second conference player of the week honor this season. He shared honors this week with Michigan State's Keith Appling.

    Here are some highlights from Rice's week:
    • Poured in a game-high 28 points, corralled seven rebounds and handed out three assists in a win over Illinois-Chicago at the United Center

    • Converted 10 field goals, including a 3-of-5 effort from three-point range

    • Scored 16 points in the second half, helping the Illini erase a 10-point halftime deficit

    • Currently ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring with 18.2 points per game, and has posted five efforts with at least 20 points

    • Earns his second Big Ten Player of the Week honor this season (Dec. 2) and for his career
