Champaign, Ill. - Tip-off of the 2007-08 college basketball season is rapidly approaching, and the excitement continues to build for Illini Madness, which will be held Friday night at Assembly Hall. Required admission to this year's event are pink Fighting Illini basketball T-shirts being sold for $7 at Gameday Spirit stores (Green St. and Springfield Ave.), with proceeds going to Coaches vs. Cancer.

After another strong weekend of sales, approximately 12,000 shirts have now been distributed. For fans that have yet to make their purchase, Illini Coach Bruce Weber will be making a special appearance at the Green St. Gameday Spirit store on Tuesday, autographing shirts from 6:30-8 p.m.

Illini Madness is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday, with Assembly Hall doors opening at 8 p.m.
