Illini Athletes Host Children From Carle Clinic at Football Game
Sept. 10, 2009
Special Spectators, University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, and CME Group will host children from Carle Clinic during the Fighting Illini football game against Illinois State on September 12, 2009.
The kids' attendance at the game is in conjunction with the University of Illinois football team's participation in Special Spectators, a national nonprofit organization. Special Spectators, in partnership with Football Bowl Subdivision programs and children's hospitals, coordinates a day of fun and excitement for seriously ill children and their parents at college football games across the United States.
Through the Fighting Illini's generous involvement in Special Spectators, youngsters from Carle Clinic will attend a tailgate party sponsored by GameDay Sports, CME Group and its employees. The tailgate will accommodate 100 people and will be complete with bean bag games, face painting and visits from University of Illinois athletes. The tailgate party will be located directly east of Assembly Hall and west of Fourth Street. The children will also watch the Fighting Illini in action as they face the Illinois State at Memorial Stadium.
Special Spectators has enjoyed support from the Orange Krush Foundation.
