The United States men's basketball team made it 3-0 in Olympic Preliminary Play in Group B with a 92-69 victory over Greece on Thursday night in Beijing. This was a rematch of the 2006 FIBA World Championship semifinal, which saw Greece defeat the U.S.
Deron Williams had five points, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes of action. Kobe Bryant and Chris Bosh led the U.S. with 18 points each while Dwyane Wade added 17. Team USA shot 54 percent on the night and recorded 15 steals while forcing its opponent into 25 turnovers for the second straight game.
The U.S. continues Preliminary Round play on Saturday morning against Spain, the reigning world champion. The game will be televised by NBC at 9:15 a.m. Central Time.
