Illini Hold Annual Orange & Blue Scrimmage

Champaign, Ill. - Illinois held its annual Orange & Blue Scrimmage at the Assembly Hall on Friday evening in front of 8,263 fans. The format called for three 10-minute periods, with the score resetting each period. The Illini blue squad defeated the UI orange squad, winning two of the three periods. Blue won the first 16-12, orange won the second 19-12, and blue won the third 21-17. The blue squad was made up of Trent Meacham, Calvin Brock, C.J. Jackson, Brian Randle, Richard Semrau, Shaun Pruitt and Jeremiah Wise while the orange squad consisted of Chester Frazier, Brian Carlwell, Jamar Smith, Warren Carter, Marcus Arnold, Chris Hicks and Steve Holdren.
Chester Frazier was one of four players in double figures on the night, leading all scorers with 17 points on 5-9 shooting, including 3-6 from 3-point range. Frazier added three assists and three rebounds. Shaun Pruitt led the victorious blue squad, nearly registering a double-double with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Illini return to action next Wednesday, Nov. 1, hosting Lewis University in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. at the Assembly Hall.
