Illini Offense On Display at Orange-Blue Scrimmage

Champaign, Ill. - Illinois held its annual Orange-Blue Scrimmage Sunday afternoon at the Assembly Hall. The Fighting Illini played four, 8-minute quarters, with the rosters rotating each quarter allowing for a number of different lineup combinations. The Orange team won the first three quarters by the scores of 21-14, 27-21 and 19-18, while the Blue squad won the fourth quarter 28-23.
Alex Legion led all scorers with 28 points, hitting 11-of-15 shots, including 6-of-8 from 3-point range. Mike Tisdale and Dominique Keller also topped the 20-point mark, each tallying 21 points. Freshmen D.J. Richardson and Brandon Paul scored 18 apiece, while Mike Davis had a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Demetri McCamey, meanwhile, also notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists.
Three Illini - Richard Semrau, Tyler Griffey and Stan Simpson - recorded eight points, while Bill Cole and Joseph Bertrand added four apiece. Jeff Jordan, meanwhile matched McCamey with a game-high 11 assists.
Illinois returns to the Assembly Hall on Friday, Oct. 30, facing Missouri Southern in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on BigTenNetwork.com.
