CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Well Illini Fans, we're working our way towards the Orange and Blue World Series and the end of fall practice. It's been a good fall season around Illinois Field. You can tell that we're making a lot of progress. It's always a little interesting the first week or so as the guys are getting back into the swing of college baseball after spending the summer with different teammates and coaches.

The newcomers have been contributing a lot lately and we can start to tell a little bit of how the team is going to shape up. The fall season is pretty valuable leading into the spring. We can get all the bugs out now and come back from Christmas break and work on refining things instead of learning everything.

Earlier this week, we announced that a Frontier League team may be coming to Illinois Field for the 2009 season. It's a really cool opportunity to share our field and facilities with a professional team, so hopefully everything can be ironed out and the minor league team can get started in two years.

The Orange and Blue World Series starts this Friday and it's open to the public, so we're hoping for some good weather so a lot of people come out. It will be a good series.

That's all for now. Go Illini!
