Rohde Named Northern League Rookie of Year

MINNEAPOLIS - Former Fighting Illini infielder Mike Rohde was named the Northern League Rookie of the Year after hitting .319, which was 10th in the league. He also drove in 55 runs, scored 59, and notched 25 doubles, five triples and one home run. He stole 13-of-17 bases, slugged .428 and reached base at a .382 clip. Rohde led all first basemen with a .995 fielding percentage, making just three errors in 65 games at first base, while also playing 18 games at second and four at third base. He was still classified as a rookie in the league despite playing 63 games for the Schaumburg Flyers in 2007.
