    TUCSON, Ariz. - Illinois signee Christian Cummins (Harrisburg, Ill.) was named an honorable mention Louisville Slugger High School All-American as selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, the publisher announced Thursday. Cummins is a middle infielder who hit .571 with 35 RBIs, five home runs, eight doubles, three triples, 45 runs and 20 stolen bases in his senior campaign for the Bulldogs.

    Cummins is listed as the No. 40 recruit in the class of 2009 in the state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report and is listed as one of the 10 best overall athletes in the class by the publication. He hit .438 as a junior with 11 doubles, eight homers, two triples, 35 RBIs, 45 runs scored and 22 steals.
