HARVEY, Ill. - Hey there Illini fans, this is Nick Stockwell with your weekly update for the summer. If you didn't already know, Matt Dittman and I are playing in the Chicago Suburban league this summer. We both play for the Lombard Orioles. This is my second straight summer with the team, and things have started off very well for both of us.
Along with seeing a lot of playing time in the outfield, there is another bonus to playing in this league - it's close to home. Living at home has many advantages. The number one thing I would have to say would be the home cooking; nothing beats it. Besides having Mom and Dad around to do things like laundry and cleaning the house, it's also a good time to catch up with old friends from high school.
So, with my parents here to do the dirty work around the house I have more time to focus on the baseball part. As a team we have started off extremely well. We have an overall record of 10-3.
Well, that's about all I have for now, but I will keep you informed with the progress of our team as the summer continues
