CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The series opener between Illinois and Purdue that was scheduled for Thursday has been postponed because of rain. The teams will now play a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, with Friday's twinbill starting at 3 p.m. and Saturday's games beginning at 4 p.m.

Friday's doubleheader will feature a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning game and Saturday's will follow with a seven-inning game and a nine-inning contest. This is Illinois' 15th game that has been postponed, cancelled or suspended because of inclement weather this season.
