COLUMBUS, Ohio - Illinois' series finale at Ohio State has been rained out and will not be made up according to Big Ten rules. Heavy rains throughout the morning, tornado warnings in the early afternoon and a forecast of further heavy rains forced the cancellation. Illinois dropped two of three games of the series and currently stands in third place in the Big Ten with a record of 29-20 overall and 15-12 in the Big Ten.

Up Next: The Illini welcome Purdue to Illinois Field for the final series of the regular season next weekend with an altered format of a 6 p.m. first pitch on Thursday, a 4 p.m. doubleheader start on Friday and a 7 p.m. first pitch on Saturday. This year, the Big Ten scheduled the final regular season series as a Thursday-Friday-Saturday format to allow teams an extra day of rest prior to the start of the Big Ten Tournament.
