MINNEAPOLIS - Illinois' series opener at Minnesota has been postponed because of rain in the Minneapolis area. The teams will play doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday's twinbill starting at the regularly scheduled 1:05 p.m. time and Sunday's double-dip scheduled for 11 a.m.
Saturday's doubleheader will feature a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning game, then Sunday will follow with a seven-inning game and a nine-inning contest. This is Illinois' tenth postponement or cancellation this season and third in Big Ten play, as the Michigan State series also became a pair of doubleheaders and the Indiana series was pushed back to a Saturday-Sunday-Monday format.
