Illini Washed Out on First Day of Spring Trip

    March 16, 2007

BRADENTON, Fla. - Looking forward to getting its annual Spring Trip started with a 1:30 p.m. (CT) game against Vermont, the Illini will have to wait a day to open play at the IMG Academies after rain in the area washed out Friday's games. It is not known if or when the game will be made up on the trip as part of a doubleheader or on Illinois' scheduled off-day on Tuesday.

The Illini are looking to snap a three-game losing streak after stumbling at Texas-Arlington last weekend. Illinois was slated to play seven games in eight days at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, but that may change after all Friday games were postponed.

The Orange and Blue will face Jacksonville State, which qualified for the 2006 NCAA Tournament after winning the Ohio Valley Conference tournament, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (CT).
